It built its business on the back of snappy catchphrases like ‘Less Talk, More Snogging’ and ‘You’ll Never Forget Your First Snog’.
Now, eight years after opening its first cartoon-coloured shop in Kensington, frozen yogurt specialist SNOG is supporting a huge expansion plan with a £500,000 on-line media campaign built around #tag messages from a dozen leading street stylists.
Also featuring a dancing role for top model Daisy Lowe, this #SnogYourHeartOut film, directed by Matt McDermott, certainly has it all going on visually as well as verbally.
But at its core is Good Times, a particularly feisty piece of pop lifted from Feline, the debut album by Universal’s up-and-coming Ella Eyre, due for release at the end of August.
“The track needed to be confirmed before shooting the film as there were some choreographed elements that needed to follow the song,” says Big Sync Music Supervisor, Lawrence Millar.
“It had to be an upbeat, danceable summer tune by an artist who would connect with SNOG’s target audience of independently-minded, fun-loving young women.”
Millar and SNOG were also keen to align the campaign launch with the release of a single to benefit both brand and artist. Following a suggestion by Universal Globe’s Neil Mulford, Eyre’s Good Times clearly ticked all the boxes.
It also marks the second high profile sync for the 21 year old Brit School graduate and Mobo winner – who is signed to Warner Chappell and first hit headlines as featured artist on Rudimental’s 2013 chart-topper Waiting All Night. Earlier this year she starred in an eye-catching b&w Emporio Armani fragrance ad.
