The independent Bucks Music Group is currently developing Synclinks, a dedicated website designed to showcase all its writers to the TV and film communities.
Pride of place in the new service will be the publisher’s classic catalogue of top Sixties and Seventies pop hits by T.Rex, The Move, Procul Harum and Black Sabbath.
But it will also highlight contemporary rock and dance acts like Novo Amor, Honeyblood and The Heavytrackerz as well as Buck’s roster of modern screen composers which includes David Arnold and Rachel Portman.
Likely to loom large over Synclinks once it is launched later this year will be writer/producers Lank & Tank (aka Joe Murphy and Jonty Howard), who were recently commissioned to give the BT Sport channel’s musical branding a complete make-over.
According BT Sport’s Head Of Music Jim Brackpool, this was “a complex project involving sound design, mnemonics and original composition.”
“Lank & Tank were tasked with creating a sonic universe where all these elements would sit together cohesively, whether soundtracking a menu, a fan tweet, an end board or a channel ident.” he continues.
“The whole look and concept was a bold move for BT Sport and we are delighted to have a thrilling sonic identity to match it.”
Graduates of the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA), multi-instrumentalists Murphy and Howard signed with Bucks in 2013 as electronica artists One Bit.
From their own studios in Hertfordshire they have since produced tracks for major label artists George The Poet and Will Heard plus syncs for clients such as Turkish Airlines and Volvo.
