Securing a good sync was high on the agenda when Warner Music first began examining mechanisms to market an upgraded version of Kylie Minogue’s successful 2015 Christmas album.
“We knew that Boots and Mother had already used different versions of Rozalla’s Everybody’s Free To Feel Good in previous commercials,” says Tim Miles, Director Of Synchronisation, Warner UK.
“Everybody was very excited when we suggested re-recording it with Kylie, who is one of our most celebrated and popular pop stars. She brought a sprinkle of glamour to the commercial before it was even shot!”
The Boots’ Gift Of Beauty campaign, which has been on heavy rotation since its November debut, centres on a makeover followed by a party given to female healthcare workers whose shifts require them be apart from their families on Christmas Day.
“Kylie and her producer Steve Anderson did a great job shaping the song around the journey we see in the advert and naturally we wanted to include it on the album,” Miles continues.
“Partnerships like this massively benefit both sides. Not only can we tap into a media spend at a congested time of year but people can Shazam the spot and be taken to the new album as part of that marketing campaign.”
