Description: Contemporaries of fellow North West USA acts like The Kingsmen and Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Sonics are held by many to be America’s first punk garage band and have influenced – and had album tracks like Strychnine and Have Love, Will Travel covered by – the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Nirvana, The White Stripes, The Cramps, The Fall, Eagles Of Death Metal among many others. They broke up in 1968 but reformed in 1980 and are still active.
