Description: A classic piece of East Coast doo-wop by teenagers The Chips, this novelty song about starvation was a big local radio hit in 1956 but despite extensive touring with the likes of The Dells, The Cadillacs and Bo Diddley it failed to chart nationally. Martin Scorcese used it on the soundtrack to the gangster movie Mean Streets in 1973 and The Blues Brothers covered it for their Suitcase Full Of Blues album in 1978.
